The Fashion industry in Cameroon is experiencing a rapid growth in its taste of fashion and style. Dressing style in Cameroon has evolved from traditional clothing- kabba, sanja, turbans to trendy fashion clothing. This evolution can be seen visibly in the North West Region and South West Region of Cameroon. Let’s discover how some individuals exhibit this new fashion trend in the NW region of Cameroon.

1) VANESSA NGWE

Vanessa Ngwe is one of Cameroon’s upcoming fashionista born on the 6th February. Born into a polygamous family, Vanessa Ngwe is a level 5 student pursuing a diploma in computing and information systems from the institute of professional studies Cameroon affiliated under AMBA education in the UK. Vanessa started her modeling career after winning the Cameroon Modeling Boot Camp organized by one of Cameroon’s biggest modeling agency. This gave her the opportunity to walk the runway at Cameroon’s biggest show-FIAFA.

Being passionate about fashion, Vanessa Ngwe started a modeling agency known as the GLAMOUR modeling agency. She is motivated by her mother and her inspiration comes from the surroundings and her daily life. Aside from modeling, Vanessa Ngwe is a Radio and stage host and an event organizer.

According to Vanessa Ngwe, being stylish is all about embracing your fashion thoughts and implementing these thoughts-bold or mild. “Being stylish is being YOU”.

The upcoming fashionista dreams of building and owning the biggest modeling agency in Cameroon. This agency will not only promote fashion but will also enhance Cameroon’s culture.

Her last advice to everyone is, being fashionable does not only end at the level of putting on trendy or the most expensive clothes. It entails having the knowledge of being able to use what you have to come up with your own unique style of dressing which makes you feel comfortable.
